Lannon Twomey Speech Therapy - About

Lannon is nationally certified by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a licensed speech-language pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has experience working with children and adults who present with a variety of communication needs including:
- articulation and phonological disorders
- specific language impairment
- pragmatic and social language disorders
- language-based learning disabilities
- hearing loss
- auditory processing disorders
- phonological processing/pre-literacy needs
- voice disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorders
- developmental delays
Lannon has a special interest and expertise working with children who have hearing loss who use hearing aids and cochlear implants. Her therapy practices foster an auditory-oral approach to speech, language and auditory skill development.
Lannon received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary/Special Education from Providence College and her Master of Science Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston, MA. She has worked with people who have communication needs in public schools, specialized educational programs, private practice, hospitals and rehabilitation settings. Lannon worked in a school-based program for children with hearing loss and language-based learning needs. In addition to her private practice, Lannon currently works at Blanchard Elementary School in Boxborough, MA.
Lannon has developed presentations for speech-language pathologists, teachers of the deaf, educators, special educators, paraprofessionals and parents. Some topics include:
